Your Council Tax bill

Your Council Tax bill for 2024/25 will show an increase of 2.9 percent for London Borough of Havering.

The actual increase is 2.99 percent.

This percentage is shown to one decimal place in line with statutory requirements.

To calculate your bill, the Valuation Office Agency decides the band your property is in. There are eight bands (A-H) depending on the property market value on 1 April 1991.

The band will determine how much Council Tax you will have to pay and the full Council Tax bill is based on two or more adults living in your property.

Bills are sent out every March.

The list below shows the bands for Council Tax for 2024to 2025based on a single resident discount charge.

  • Band B – £1,287.95
  • Band C – £1,471.94
  • Band D – £1,655.94
  • Band E – £2,023.93
  • Band F – £2,391.92
  • Band G – £2,759.90
  • Band H – £3,311.88

If you have moved into your property part way through the year then your bill will be worked out from when you became liable until 31 March.

Council Tax has been set at £2,207.92for a band D property for 2024to 2025. This means your Council Tax bill has increased by 5.7percent compared to the previous year.
