About Mystic Lake YMCA Camp
Since 1926 Mystic Lake YMCA Camp has been providing children and families with outstanding programs focused on helping them grow. Sessions at camp focus on the character values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility within each activity. Through our character development we are able to foster social responsibility, self-confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging during your child’s stay with us. The staff at Mystic Lake YMCA Camp are highly trained and very committed to the goals of camp. References and previous work experiences are thoroughly reviewed, and criminal background checks are conducted prior to hiring. They are hard working individuals who are dedicated, experienced, responsible, enthusiastic, positive and FUN! All staff members are trained in CPR and First Aid, and specialists have certifications specific to their area of expertise.
At Mystic Lake YMCA Camp, our goals are centered around helping each child:
Learn about social responsibility through environmental stewardship, community living and working with one another in a group setting that builds friendships.
Develop and learn new skills to help improve their sense of self-worth and confidence by creating an accepting environment where all are welcome and everyone belongs.

Mystic Lake Camp is accredited by the American Camp Associated (ACA). The ACA’s rigorous accreditation process ensures our programs operate at the highest levels and meet or exceed the established standards to ensure that campers and staff stay safe and healthy. Meet the Mystic Lake Team
We are excited to meet you! The team at Mystic Lake is compromised of motivated young people who create the camp environment of achievement, relationship and belonging for the campers. Our Summer Camp team and Outdoor Education team are strong role models for the youth we serve in our programs.
Taylor Harris, Program Director
Taylor Harris, has been a part of the Mystic Lake family for 18 years as both a camper and staff member. She has held several job titles including Camp Counselor, Waterfront Director and most recently Operation Specialist. She is a recent graduate from Central Michigan University where she majored in Recreation, Park and Leisure with a concentration in Event Planning and Management. Darin Borgstadter, Executive Director
Our new Executive Director, Darin Borgstadter, comes to Michigan from the beautiful state of Oregon where he worked at Oregon State University.He has over 30 years of experience in overnight camping industry and has worked in some of the largest resident camps in the country in various camp leadership roles. Joining Darin at camp is his wife Holly who he has been married to for 11 years and his dog Gus, a greater swiss mountain dog! He has two sons and is a proud grandpa of two grandkids, Sophie (7) and Shane (5).

I look forward to working with staff, campers, donors, volunteers, and community members to share the passion I have for camp and ensure this special place continues to be tradition for families in the years to come.”
