Silly Cat^[1] (sometimes referred to as Creature) is a character created by artist Mauzymice, initially for her to practice animations on Flipnote Studio. However, the character would later become a meme with various "text images memes" using the animation, or utilizing the character dancing with some music on the background. The most notable meme using this character is "this is how you look sayin that sh*t", in which became a very famous one for the community. In the mod, created by phantasmuh, animator Infry, and voice actor RetroDolphin1, Silly Cat tries to mock Boyfriend in how he looks like Silly Cat when he says something.

Appearance[]

Silly Cat is a white furred domestic cat with two red cheeks, black eyes, and pink paw pads. He is often seen inside of a "meme image" format with the phrase, "this is how you look sayin that sh*t" above him during gameplay.

Trivia[]

• Silly Cat was created by Mauzymice in order to practice her animations, mostly on the Flipnote Studio program. She didn't think too much in regards of the character, so she didn't really give it a name until someone asked about it.^[1]
• The character is notably confused with another "cat" character with almost the same appearances, but with red inside ears and red circular cheeks. The character itself is a original character from her boyfriend, @ahaanso.^[1][2] The character itself can be confirmed to be Lyan, due to similar appearances, but it's unknown if is the same character.
• The character seems to know hypnosis, but due to it being only a practice animation, it is unknown if the character himself would actually know it.^[3]
• For some reason, inside the game files, a spritesheet of Tricky the Clown can be found.
• Mauzymice has noticed the mod itself, with a retweeet quote saying "WHAT".^[4]

Origins[]

Mauzymice is an artist that mostly draws cute things, mostly involving her original characters, such as her persona Mauzy. Or they may be based on others medias or with characters that she likes, such as her boyfriend's original character. Currently, Mauzy has being creating various animations with few characters, notably only using them for practice^[1]. One of the characters in particular is this white cat, who originally didn't have a name. The character is generally used by the creator for animation practice, and the creator just wanted to make the job easier.

The character and the artist became popular for not only for the animations that feature him, but also for various memes involving the character - notably memes used to mock someone. This would then become more popular in places like Discord and Twitter than anywhere else, and even then it still goes on. Meanwhile, Mauzy - despite liking how her creation has been transformed - feels uncomfortable due to not being credited.^[5] Still, the creator does like how people use the animations for various uses.

Despite the reception, people used the character, principally with Mauzy's artworks to profit, trace artworks, recolor, and many other forms of theft. Even though it was only a meme, this later resulted into the Mauzy getting swarmed with hate. On January 31st 2023, she locked her Twitter account until further notice. She is still somewhat active, though.^[6]
