Spiked Hot Apple Cider – hot apple cider is a classic fall drink, this version is spiked with caramel vodka for a fun and delicious drink!
Fall co*cktails are a must for fall entertaining. Warm Vanilla Cider is great for carving pumpkins and having fall get togethers. But sometimes you want a grown up version. I mean a red sangria is great, but sometimes you want something more seasonal.
How about apple cider that is spiked with caramel vodka? You get all the taste of a caramel apple in a hot and steaming cup of deliciousness. Then you top with whipped cream and caramel for a decadent treat. If that doesn’t scream fall, I don’t know what else does!
Hot apple cider is a classic drink in the fall and it is so easy to make. As soon as apple season starts and you can find fresh apple cider in the grocery store and the farmer’s markets, it is time to make this hot apple cider recipe.
You really want to get the good apple cider for this recipe. Skip the stuff down the juice isle, you want the stuff in the produce section that has to be kept cold. It is made with fresh apples and isn’t full of extra ingredients. So you get 100% apple flavor and nothing else. It works great when making Caramel Apple Sangria too!
Hot to Make Hot Apple Cider
I like to make hot apple cider in the crock pot. It is so easy to just dump the bottle of apple cider in there, set on low and let it heat. That way it stays warm all night or afternoon during your party as well. Just set a ladle and a bunch of mugs near by, and your friends can help themselves.
You can use the stove top if you want it done quicker. I just like to heat it gently, and not bring it to a full rolling boil.
This spiked hot apple cider uses a little bit of caramel flavored vodka to give you that classic caramel apple flavor. Just enough vodka for the caramel flavor without tasting any of the vodka. You know the sign of a good co*cktail is when you can’t taste the alcohol. And this definitely fits the bill.
Topping with fresh whipped cream and a drizzle of caramel take this drink over the top. Fall co*cktails have never looked so good!
