How To Prep: Directed Drawing
-Print Directed Drawing pages as a booklet. They alternate “Step-By-Step” and “Drawing Page” (page for students to draw on). If you do not want to print booklets, print the directed drawing page you want and have them complete it on blank paper or in a sketchbook or duotang.
-Look over the lesson plan for the materials needed for the directed drawing lesson. This is very teacher-choice and you can direct your students on which coloring mediums they will use, or give them the choice to pick their own.
How to Use:
-Look over the lesson plan to see what to do and what materials are needed.
-Look over directed drawing step-by-steps to see how to draw the piece. You may want to demonstrate drawing the character/subject yourself to engage your students and allow them success.
-Print off as a booklet, or just the individual step-by-step drawings. Students can complete work in the booklet provided or just on blank paper to be turned into art pieces.
-Have students draw their subjects as per the directed drawing handouts.
-To complete the compositions, have students outline in black felt or fine liner and then color with coloring mediums.
-Show them 1 of the 3 completed directed drawing posters as examples of what a completed composition looks like to set expectations.
