Do pen refills fit all pens? ›

Some brands have specific sizes and profiles to fit their pens, some take standard sizes, some brands even do refills designed for other brands.

Those photo shops were the last local options for printer ink refill services. A year ago, Walgreens also discontinued printer recharge service. However, you can still refill your own inkjet printer cartridges by buying a refill kit online or at an office supply store.

0.5mm is thinner than the 0.7mm and is often preferred due to the sheer precision and fine trail it produces. Two additional lead thicknesses are the 0.9mm, and 1.4mm. Though durable, these dull easily and also cost more than thinner leads.

The Parker style standard G2 ballpoint refill is the most common pen refill on the market. Numerous pen and refill makers offer gel and ballpoint refills that match this standard. The official ISO standard length is 98.1 mm, but most of these refills measure out to 98.4 mm, or exactly 3 7/8″.

Writing. The fluidity of ink translates to a rollerball pen generally having a finer writing line, which is good for people with smaller handwriting or for detailed drawings. On the other hand, a ballpoint pen does have a more controlled action and is deemed suitable for completing official forms and documents.

Therefore, we recommend it for artists that want to draw with precision. Both 0,5 and 0,7 mm are perfect for technical drawing. 0.9 MM: If you usually apply much preassure to your mechanical pencil, use a 0,9 mm lead as they are darker and leave less grooves on the paper.

Medium Pen Tip Size. A medium pen tip size delivers a line that's about 1.0 mm-1.2 mm in width for a ballpoint pen, and narrower for a gel or rollerball ink pen. You can't go wrong with a medium tip if the desired writing falls into one of these categories: Medium to large handwriting.

Medium nibs are great for general all-around use. They produce average line widths and are great for average writing pressure. Most standard fountain pens are usually fine or medium tipped. Medium nibs are less prone to the scratchy feeling when writing on paper and smearing and bleedthrough are also minimised.

Generally if you want a refill for your pen look for a branded refill that matches your pen and type. If you can't find a branded refill this is usually because the manufacturer does not make specialised refills and your pen will take the International Standard for that writing type.

Note: Although some cartridges are specified as a standard universal cartridge, there are different lengths. A Monteverde Magnum Cartridge or the Pelikan Edelstein Cartridge have a longer cartridge body. This allows the cartridge to hold more ink but will not fit within the body of all cartridge pens.

Some pen brands take standard refill sizes, so you can buy generic or off-brand pen ink cartridges (and these are usually cheaper and of exactly the same quality), but others have specific profiles and sizes that fit only their pens.

What's essential, is the vape cartridge compatibility. Cartridges do not fit into any vape pod. They are compatible with vape pens made by the same manufacturer. So far, there haven't been universal cartridges that fit multiple vaping devices.
